AdSense Now! is a plugin Wordpress recommended for your themes. Now the latest version was released v 1.80 has functions that you can place google adsense ads wherever you want, although not included wp themes adsense ready. This is one of the best alternative than to have confused editing php files.

  2. Simplest possible configuration interface — nothing more than cutting and pasting AdSense code.
  3. Option to suppress ads on all pages (as opposed to posts), or on the front/home page., category/tag/archive listings.

Instalation

  1. Upload the AdSense Now! plugin (the whole adsense-now folder) to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Go to the Setup -> AdSense Now! and enter your AdSense code and options.

So, you only use 1 unit adsense code to display a maximum of three blocks on a page. My tips, combine between 2 blocks text ads and 1 image ad to make it look attractive. See the screenshots below:

Of some Adsense plugins which I have tried before, only AdSense Now! That work 100% without error. So I recommend using this plugin.

Note: One of the Adsense TOS is = “Do not place more than 3 adsense ad units and 3 link adsense ads or 2 boxes adsense for seacrh on the web page”. Usually if you’ve put adsense code before this plugin, adsense will not appear on your page if more than 3 ad blocks. I think for this you know better.
