7 How to Save Laptop Battery November 26, 2009

One of the things that are often complained of by the owner of the laptop (notebook) is a problem that quickly drains the battery. Over time, cells batteries will decrease its function. That’s why if you buy a laptop second hand (used), the main thing is to check battery life. Try to survive until checked how many minutes the laptop. If you just bought a laptop, then the following tips can be used to extend the life of your favorite laptop battery:

  1. Do not use the brightness level is too bright. LCD on a laptop requires a large enough power to display images. So you should lower the screen brightness level to a rather low level.
  2. Turn off Wi-Fi when not needed. If your laptop does not have a function to turn off the Wi-Fi, you can use the Windows Control Panel in the Network Connection to turn off the feature.
  3. Turn off unnecessary devices, like USB flash or a webcam. Do not let the flash is kept plugged when not in use. So with a webcam, are disabled when not in use.
  4. Eject CD / DVD from the slot if it is not used. Round CD-ROM/DVD-ROM resulting from consumption requires substantial battery.
  5. Purchase a battery that is more durable. Laptops generally use the 6 cell battery. But now it has a lot of vendors are issued with 8 cell battery, or even 12 cells, which would double the time you use a laptop. So there’s no harm in you invest this kind of battery, and can be used as a backup.

Heat has a significant affect on battery life. So, if your laptop is not being used it will certainly be wise to keep it turned off. Keeping your laptop and battery cool will help, although no matter what you do, you will probably have 80% battery life after 1 year. 65% after 2 years and 50% after 3.
