This application has even more powerful features than YM standard applications for windows. Among them is the ability to detect offline or invisible user, and the ability to directly record images from the opponent’s chat show. Let us just follow the linux tutorial on How to Install Gyachi on linux order to chat using Webcam in Desktop Linux
How to Install Gyachi
1. Edit file /etc/apt/sources.list
#sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
enter the following lines (assuming using ubuntu jaunty, if using another version, just changing version)
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/loell/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/loell/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
2. Insert the gpg key
#sudo apt-key adv –recv-keys –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 0xc23b005d874996dc8d03a3c0d0d3c959db2035a6
3. Update Apt
#sudo apt-get update
4. Install Gyachi
#sudo apt-get install gyachi
5. Run Gyachi application by click Start Menu >> Application >> Internet >> GyachE Improved

Hello…I’m using Ubuntu 10.4 in my netbook….and I follow the steps here. Now I now have Gyachi…Thanks. It works!
thanks gyachi it works on lucid but doesn work the audio when i try to use it in room….thanks
