Change Battery Notification in Windows 7 March 5, 2010

Windows gives a warning each time your battery reaches low level, reserve, and the critical level. But you can change the low level warning, and critical reserve battery in Windows 7 via the Control Panel.

When your battery reaches low level, battery icon in the notification area to indicate low-battery level.

When you reach the reserve battery level, Windows gives a warning that you are using battery power reserve level. At this point, you need to save all your work, and then find the source of electrical power or stop using the laptop.

When your battery is nearly out of power, the battery icon indicates the battery level, critical, and then your laptop into hibernation mode.

If you do not have enough time to respond to notification that the battery in a low-level or reserve, you can increase the percentage of remaining battery by using the setting which we will discuss. This trick can be very useful for laptop battery was already old, who may not have enough space/storage resources.

To change the low level, reserve, and critical power, do the following things:

  1. Open Power Options by clicking on Start button and then Control Panel, click system and then Security, After that click Power Options.
  2. At the option “Select a power plan” click link “Change plan settings” on the right after the option plan you want to change.
  3. On the page “Change settings for the plan”, click “Change advanced power settings”.
  4. In the Advanced settings tab, expand Battery, expand Low battery level, battery level Reserve, and Critical battery level. Change the percentage of remaining battery you want for each level, and click OK.
