Convert Excel Document Old Format to New Excel 2007 Format March 7, 2010

Excel 2007 can open a document from the previous version of the Compatibility Mode, but if you want to use the benefits of some new features then you must convert the document first. (you can use the 1.1 million rows in Excel 2007 where the previous version could only 65,000 rows).

When you open a document from a previous version, you can see [Compatibility Mode] in the title bar.

To convert a document, click on the Microsoft Office button on the right-hand corner, and then click on Convert.

You will be notified to store documents that have been converted to another file name.

After the document is saved, now you must close the file and reopen the converted document. Fortunately there is a dialog box that appears to be wide do it automatically for you.

Now you can see the writing [Compatibility Mode] in the title bar is gone.
